Law enforcement in Stephens County, Georgia has arrested four people in connection with a shooting that took place in the parking lot of Stephens County High School during a school basketball game on February 10, 2026.
According to authorities, the incident began when an altercation between two males in the parking area escalated to gunfire, with one person discharging a firearm multiple times before fleeing the scene. Deputies described the situation as gang‑related, and the school was briefly placed on lockdown while officers secured the area and ensured no one on campus was in immediate danger.
The following individuals have been taken into custody by the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office:
- Ja’Nareon Riley, 17, who is accused of firing the weapon during the incident, has been charged with multiple counts including aggravated assault, gang activity, and discharging a firearm on school property.
- Kyairre “Noodle” Thomas, 24, is accused of aiding the suspect by driving the vehicle used to leave the scene and faces charges including aggravated assault and gang participation.
- Jalashe Gray, 33, was arrested on allegations of conspiring with her son to conceal evidence related to the shooting.
- Tykerion Brown, 17, was initially taken into custody for obstructing law enforcement and later charged with assault and gang participation after further investigation.
All suspects are currently in custody at the Stephens County Jail, where they await further legal proceedings and potential bond hearings. Deputies continue to treat this as an active investigation, urging anyone with information to contact local law enforcement.
Officials have emphasized that students and staff were never believed to be targeted directly by gunfire, and school officials took immediate precautionary measures to protect those on campus once shots were reported.
