Rock Hill police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Tuesday evening on Frank Street in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The incident unfolded just after 7:30 p.m., when emergency crews responded to reports of gunfire at a residence in the area.

According to authorities, the shooting began during an argument between two adult men inside a home. Both individuals were armed, and the dispute quickly escalated into an exchange of gunfire inside the house and then continued as those involved moved outside.

Tragically, a four‑year‑old child who was inside the home was struck by gunfire and later died of their injuries. A 19‑year‑old involved in the altercation also died as a result of his wounds, according to police. The suspect, a 34‑year‑old man identified as Cedric Akeen Creighton of Lancaster, was also shot but survived; he was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Police have charged Creighton with two counts of murder, as well as weapons‑related offenses, including possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime of violence and unlawful possession of a firearm by a person previously convicted of certain crimes. Once his medical treatment is complete, he is expected to be taken into custody and transported to the Rock Hill Jail.

Investigators continue to work at the scene and gather evidence, and officials have not publicly released the identities of the victims pending notification of next of kin.

Community members have expressed deep sorrow and shock at the loss of life, particularly that of the young child, describing the shooting as a devastating and avoidable tragedy. Law enforcement and local leaders are urging anyone with information related to the incident to contact police as the investigation continues.
